Currently all my money is held in a Wells Fargo checking account but I'm moving away from that since I'm realizing it's not the best option. I just opened Charles Schwab brokerage and checking accounts, and I want to transfer money to them out of my WF checking account. There is a difference between Wells Fargo ADVISORS and WellsTrade. WFA is actually an independent fee based advisory service that is associated w Wells Fargo. WellsTrade is their brokerage platform. You can have money w WFA that you manage yourself through WellsTrade but the advisors still get their cut. Some weeks my paycheck hits Friday at 3am. Some weeks it’s Friday by 9am. Some weeks like this week, it still hasn’t posted with Wells Fargo “early pay day”. Does anyone else have this issue? Wondering if I need to change my bills to fall on the actual pay day of Tuesday and stop with the early pay day. Just curious. Not a Wells Fargo customer myself, but I imagine their overdraft system works the same. It's likely that your account has the overdraft election turned on, but that doesn't guarantee any individual transaction to be drawn over. I may (I have direct deposit at work but it looks like it hasn't started yet) be getting a big pay day check on Friday that's x $1000. How long will it take for the check to clear at Wells Fargo? Boy am I pissed: One mention to my Wells Fargo financial advisor that I was going to be moving money market cash over to Vanguard got me dropped from their office after 13 years of being a client. I looked through their check re-ordering options available online, but they charge, at a minimum, a $7.01 fee to get checks. Wells Fargo sent me a letter saying my mortgage payment will increase or I can pay the shortage in my escrow. I’m trying to pay the shortage but don’t see how I can do that online. Look at the recent Capital One data breach. Wells Fargo doesn't even need a security breach - their own employees will open fraudulent accounts for you! The big banks are all running decades-old legacy systems, with more inherent vulnerabilities. And because they're so big, it would cost an insane amount to replace them.
